    One of contemporary fiction's stars(Towers made the 20 under 40 best fiction writers list in the New Yorker this year) but honestly, such a downer. Only story that really stuck with me (even only 48 hours after finishing) is the title story which is a violent but somehow touching depiction of what seemed to be viking pirates during a raid. The rest was just one down and out story after another. But I want to get through that list....7 down 13 to go...
