Another book that gets re-read
This is to me the quintessential S-F trilogy. Inspired partly by The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, there is just so much more to this than a crumbling empire. It's epic in scope and touches on so many interesting things it's worth re-reading regularly. Just avoid any but the first three book ... (continue)
This is to me the quintessential S-F trilogy. Inspired partly by The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, there is just so much more to this than a crumbling empire. It's epic in scope and touches on so many interesting things it's worth re-reading regularly. Just avoid any but the first three books - Asimov apparently felt the need to retrofit computers and robots into this universe in later books, which feels very clumsy.
