mmm...

The book is engaging, sliding, involving but the end is too much hasty...
All the story solves in the last twenty pages!
A bit disappointing for a book that seems to be so promising!

I cannot say whether or not this book is a masterpiece, but I really liked it. I liked the main character, David Martin, and his friends, all linked by the love for books. David Martin grows up under the protection of Pedro Vidal: David has nothing, only his love for books and his devotion to Pedro, who's truly a good person, besides powerful and rich.
David is a writer, although not immediately appreciated... until a strange editor contats him promising power and everything to write a particular book. But there's something very mysteryous around Andreas Corelli, the editor...
A true, completely ivolving, gothic novel, dark and mysteryous. Great!

...another disappointing example of an author, who manages just only one good book and then keeps on producing bad copies of his first manuscript!
