oh here i go again.. this is not a review but sort of a comment or a reflection. i love the book. i'm in love with the book! it teaches you how to listen to what your heart says! how silence can be very noisy and distracting! how the the past affected your present, though you cannot feel it. bit by bit it draws you to a world of honesty and truth! it tells you that being nice is not always good, if it entails telling lies. saying "i'm fine" may be a risk of not being true to yourself. this book tell you to TALK. EXPRESS. SHOUT. BE TRUE. hard right? but manageable in its very essence. >",<

Annabel Greene is the girl who has everything, or at least that is who she protrays in her commercials and photo shoots. In reality, she might as well be the girl who has nothing. Left friendless after what had happened at the last day of classes party the year earlier, Annabel goes into self-imposed iscolation. Then she meets owen Armstrong. He is music-obsessed and always honest. Can he be the one to pull her out of her shell so that she can finally admit what had happened to her that spring?

This is the best Dessen yet. I couldn't stop reading it. I thought it was thought provoking and entertaining. I look forward to hear what the students thought about it. This is the best Dessen yet. I couldn't stop reading it. I thought it was thought provoking and entertaining. I look forward to hear what the students thought about it. Annabel seems at times so very old, yet so very young. I forget sometimes that she is not in college or in her mid-twenties. The thing that I am not sure about and might need a re-read of the last part is whether or not she was raped or did he only attempt it. I was a little confused by this. This novel reminded me a lot of Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.
