  a story to touch, smell and taste

  Nice story indeed. I read this book all at once while bedded for a flu. The plot runs quickly, with good descriptions of characters and scenes. Vivid images of the town, the banquets and the people. It was almost possible to smell the taste of those fabulous sweets handmade by the nuns in the monast ... (continue)

  Nice story indeed. I read this book all at once while bedded for a flu. The plot runs quickly, with good descriptions of characters and scenes. Vivid images of the town, the banquets and the people. It was almost possible to smell the taste of those fabulous sweets handmade by the nuns in the monastery. Same thing for the bread, I could share the sensations of Agata hitting and mixing the soft material with her own hands. And the feelings... love, anger, despair, resignation. The richness in details and the accuracy of historical information on the background made this story particularly real.
