  As this is the first book of The Clifton Chronicles, it is mainly background and introduction to the characters. The story follows the life of Harry Clifton, from humble beginning to how he almost entered Oxford University, but ended up being accused of murder.

  When reading the novel, there was always this feeling of 'deja vu' - I have seen this plot before in another of his books. Having said that, I think I will read on when the second book comes out. I hate not knowing the full story and Archer is such a good story teller, somehow I was already hooked.

  If you must read a story with a proper ending, then you should avoid this one or wait until the whole series is out.
