    In Stephenie Meyer's introduction to her latest Twilight tale, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, she whets her fans' appetites by suggesting that in this novel she's "stepped into the shoes of … a 'real' vampire – a hunter, a monster". Any reader ... (read full critics)

    she = Victoria, that's all.

    Ehm, all these "I shrugged, he-she shrugged, we shrugged, they shrugged" are annoying me to death, it looks like Mrs Meyer doesn't know how to express otherwise, and if I read again "he was different from the others" I'll get mad.
    Bree, I can barely stand you.
    70 pags and I'm done.

    FINISHED.
    Well, the book didn't dissapoint me 'cause there was nothing to disappoint, I just didn't like it the way I LOVED the other books. This one, wasn't needful, was just useful to bring other money in S. Meyer's -already full- pokets.
    The main character is not very intersting (I hated her). The NewBorns' life is fascinating instead.
    Nothing special.

    Short, dull and pointless. And extremely predictable to boot.
    I wasn't expecting much from the beginning but this book still managed to let me down.

  • Too short...

    This was a really, really good read. Way too short but I suppose we were lucky to get anything at all as when she started it she only meant to write a few paragraphs. Bree is a way more interesting character than Bella, she had a bit of fight in her which I loved!

    The way it linked in with Eclipse was great, it was really nice to read even a tiny bit about our fave characters from the Twilight Saga. Mine is Jasper, always hope she might write a book about the beginning of his life as a vampire!
    The only flaw was I thought because it was a short book she didn't have time to develop the romance between Bree and Diego. I mean they had only known eachother a day and she became obsessed with him pretty quickly.

    Contrary to what Meyer says in her note at the start of the book, I think the ending was great, I mean we all knew what was coming but finally a loved character is killed off. It adds a little extra to the book, everything doesn't have a happy ending. This only makes the happy endings that do happen all the more appreciated.

  • So, uh, is this the first time Edward Cullen is referred to as being a redhead?

  • Read it just to please my daughter who's a keen Twilight fan. This short book (or novella as it boasts to be) is unnecessary and dull as his main character than hardly anyone has notice in the movie and/or book series.
