200 pages in: I finally realize what it is about Rothfuss's style that draws me into his stories like no other author: he doesn't care so much about set pieces, big action scenes, or melodrama. He is more concerned with the mental, or psychological, aspect of human hardships, and how there is always a constant war between what the main character knows he should do and what the world forces him to do.
